Going grey is something we can’t change when we become older but new research shows that we are not alone; Our four-legged best friends may be going through the same!
“I’ve long had a suspicion that dogs with higher levels of anxiety and impulsiveness also show increased muzzle greyness” says Camille King, lead researcher
There was a survey of more than 400 pooches that established that going grey around their faces was not just a sign of old age.
The research was developed in dog homes and veterinary clinics across the state of Colorado.
While the research was being developed, the owners of these dogs were being asked 42 questions to determine what they do in their everyday lives and whether that could cause them stress in anyway.
They had to exclude lighter coloured dogs because it was harder to tell.
Is it True?..
In the end, the results showed that dogs who were more excitable, anxious and impulsive went more grey than dogs who were quite, shy and a lot calmer.
