We all have the dreaded moment when the dog’s been outside, splashing in the puddles of mud, then your heart drops when you see that paw just ever so slight touch your newly washed floor; that’s the moment when you have no idea what to do. Muddy paws can be a nightmare!
Your first plan of action should be to quickly take your pup outside to clean of their paws before they touch anything else, you can do this simply by washing their paws with water and simply drying off with a dark towel; so the mud doesn’t show, or you could use your favourite pet shampoo, ours is the Nilaqua Pet Shampoo!
You may be lucky if you have a floor that can be wiped easily, then you can use disposable wipes, which are cheap, quick and easy, and for that extra bit of deep cleaning, a quick mop, with warm water and soap will also do the trick, as it’s all about less time and money for a happy pet owner!
You might have a problem if you have carpet, and when those muddy paws reach it, you might starting to fret, but don’t, we know a way to make life a whole lot easier (and this doesn’t just have to be for muddy paws! 😉 )
“First, is to forget everything you ever will know about stain removal and instead of trying to start right away on the cleaning, you might not want to; when the mud is wet, it becomes harder to clean as it can spread more and make more of a mess, so, wait for the mud to dry, this may feel weird at first but trust us, it works. Then, once it’s completely dry, you can simply hoover over it, preferably with the hose attachment so it gives you a chance to really focus on the muddy parts. As long as you make sure to take your time, your carpet should look like brand new, until your pooch has been on a muddy walk again. We also recommend, to be super precise, that some mud might be attached to the carpet fibres, so using something like a spoon to scrape it off, you’ll be able to hoover it up in not time!” – Cleanipedia
