Autumn is approaching us, and very quickly might we add – but the cooler air and the season change will be quite nice for our furry friends! So, grab those welly boots and your pumpkin carving equipment ready for Autumn, so here are some activities that’ll keep you and your dog busy over the next few months!
Find a dog-friendly pumpkin patch
Why not look around for a dog-friendly pumpkin patch, a great day out for the whole family and your dour-legged furry friend can come along too! After picking the perfect one why not make some pumpkin dog treats!
Go for a hike
In the warmer months taking your dog for a hike/long walk up a hill wouldn’t be the best of ideas but as the air gets cooler it’s a perfect time!
Take some pictures
If your dog has a social media account where you post pictures, or you just really enjoy taking pictures of your pooch then the Autumn is the ideal time! All the colours start to change and everything looks so picturesque! If you go on an Autumnal Gencon walk don’t forget to tag us in your photos!
Chilling by the fire
The colder months are the appropriate times to turn on the fire and sit with a hot chocolate, your dog will appreciate this chilling out time too – unless you live in the UK and you’ve already had to turn the heating up!
Dog Walk Training
Take more advantage of the crisper, colder months by training your dog to walk on their lead without pulling, the hot weather can be more exhausting so it’s a perfect time.
If you’ve ever experienced how exhausting and embarrassing it can be when your dog is pulling on the lead, or lunging at other dogs and people, you will be pleased to discover that Gencon has a solution.
The Gencon® All-in-1 and Headcollars are made from soft yet durable fabric and are specifically designed not to pull up into your dog’s eyes or uncomfortably turn their head, making them the perfect lead training accessories for grown dogs and puppy walking.
The Gencon consists of two simple loops that apply gentle pressure when your dog pulls, the lead gently but effectively stops your dog pulling forwards.
